
Malang, Indonesia – May 2026 – As part of its commitment to academic internationalization and student development, the English Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature, Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang (UNIKAMA), in collaboration with the Department of English Language and Literature, National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, organized an E-Academic Fair on 12–13 May 2026 via Zoom.
The event was designed to provide students with valuable insights into postgraduate study opportunities at NIE NTU Singapore while introducing academic pathways that support professional and scholarly growth in the field of English language education.
The first session featured Professor Icy Lee, who presented a talk entitled “Considering an MA in Applied Linguistics? Overview of Our Programme and Graduates’ Perspectives.” During the session, participants were introduced to the Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics program, including its curriculum structure, areas of specialization, learning experiences, and graduate outcomes. The presentation also provided valuable perspectives on how the program equips students with advanced knowledge and skills relevant to contemporary linguistic and educational contexts.
On the second day, Associate Professor Joel Robert Gwynne delivered a presentation entitled “Inside the MEd in English: Programme Sharing Session.” The session offered a comprehensive overview of the Master of Education (English) program, highlighting its academic framework, research opportunities, pedagogical approaches, and its role in preparing educators and professionals for leadership in English language education.
The E-Academic Fair provided participants with a unique opportunity to engage directly with internationally renowned academics and gain first-hand information about postgraduate studies at one of the world’s leading teacher education institutions. Participants were able to explore academic programs, research opportunities, and professional pathways while broadening their understanding of global educational environments.
Through this initiative, UNIKAMA seeks to encourage students to pursue advanced studies, expand their international academic networks, and develop the competencies necessary to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. The event also demonstrates the university’s commitment to providing students with access to global educational opportunities and fostering a culture of academic excellence.
