UNIKAMA and NIE NTU Singapore Strengthen International Academic Collaboration through Academic Forum

Malang, Indonesia – May 2026 – The English Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature, Universitas PGRI Kanjuruhan Malang (UNIKAMA), successfully conducted an Academic Forum: Focus Group Discussion on Potential Academic Collaboration with the Department of English Language and Literature, National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, on 15 May 2026.

The forum served as a strategic platform for both institutions to explore opportunities for sustainable academic collaboration and strengthen international partnerships in the fields of English language education, research, academic mobility, and professional development.

The event featured two distinguished speakers: Dr. Oktavia Widiastuti, Head of the International Relations Office of UNIKAMA and Lecturer in the English Study Program, Faculty of Language and Literature, and Dr. Norhaida Aman, Assistant Dean (Diploma), Office of Teacher Education and Undergraduate Programmes, as well as Senior Lecturer in the English Language and Literature Department at NIE, Singapore.

Throughout the discussion, participants exchanged perspectives on various collaborative initiatives that could be developed between the two institutions. Key topics included joint research projects, collaborative teaching activities, faculty and student mobility programs, academic exchanges, and other initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education and fostering global engagement.

The forum highlighted the shared commitment of UNIKAMA and NIE NTU Singapore to establishing meaningful and mutually beneficial academic partnerships. By bringing together academic leaders and educators from both institutions, the event created opportunities for future collaboration that can contribute to the advancement of English language education and research at both national and international levels.
